End of universal EU pricing
We're providing one month's notice to our EU customers that our advertised Euro prices will no longer be inclusive of VAT from 01 April 2023. From this date all new invoices without a VAT registration number will have VAT charges added to the sale price at the standard rate of VAT that applies under EU place of supply rules.
Will my recurring payments go up?
If you're normally based in a territory where EU VAT applies and have not provided us with a VAT registration number - then yes - your next bill will be higher than your last (by the percentage of VAT that applies).
If you enter a VAT registration number before this time, your subscription price will remain the same and you will be responsible for paying VAT under the EU reverse charge system. You can add a VAT number by editing the Billing recipient from your account dashboard.
Why are we changing this?
The majority of our EU customers are VAT-registered businesses. Many have found it confusing that providing a VAT number did not reduce the price of their subscription to a net value, and some felt it was unfair that they were effectively paying VAT twice. Although they weren't actually paying VAT twice, they were paying a higher overall price than customers in the same country that did not provide a VAT number.
